POSCO-Thainox, as a member of POSCO group adheres to a "Corporate Citizenship" philosophy based on a strong belief that a corporation is not only an economic entity but also a corporate citizen with a duty to build a better future and grow together with civil society.
POSCO-Thainox, the largest stainless steel flat products manufacturer in Thailand and the first stainless steel cold-rolling mill in Southeast Asia, contributes to Thai society accordingly. Now the company has expanded with “MRT station’s priority seats”, a meaningful reflection of the fundamental role of citizens in caring and sharing.
POSCO-Thainox recently delivered 38 benches for installation at 16 stations along the Chalong Ratchadham Line operated by the Mass Rapid Transit Authority. Mr. Vithaya Punmongkol, Deputy Governor, representing Mass Rapid Transit Authority, presided over the delivery of the benches on 16 November 2021 at Phra Nang Klao Bridge Station.
POSCO-Thainox stepped up operating activities further with business partners, including “School Renovation” in Chonburi, Rayong and Surat Thani and “Park Refreshment” bench donation to Vachirabenjatas Park last year. Other activities include new universal designed stainless steel furniture for public use and accessibility chairs for the handicapped for the MRT. The move won POSCO-Thainox Design Award 2020” under “Priority Seat” for the elderly, disabled, children, and others.
The stainless steel benches are made of grade 441 ferritic material. This grade does not include costly nickel, thereby saving cost. The ferritic material could be further adopted by several sectors.
Considered hygienic, easy to clean, durable, low replacement cost, and eco-friendly, nothing really beats stainless steel.
