Portugal has confirmed Scots will be able to enter the country from Monday if they can show proof of a negative PCR coronavirus test, it has been reported.
British holidaymakers had hoped to jet off to Portugal as soon as UK travel restrictions lifted on Monday, with the sun-kissed country being on the UK’s so-called ‘green’ list.
However, travellers then faced confusion after the country’s government extended its “state of calamity” until at least May 30.
Vaccines minister Nadhim Zahawi had told the BBC : “It’s really important that this year – whether you are planning a holiday in Portugal or elsewhere – is to always check both our Foreign Office advice but also the destination country whether that’s Portugal or Iceland or any of the other green list countries.”
However, multiple reports confirm that holidays will be allowed within days - subject to travellers proving a negative test.
