Portsmouth vs Sunderland team selector: Risk McGeady? Maguire to start? Pick your team

Jack Ross plans to leave it as late as possible before making a decision on Aiden McGeady and whether to start the winger in the play-off semi-final.

McGeady has been playing for over a month now with painkilling injections for a foot injury and was named in Sunderland's starting line-up for the play-off semi final first leg against Portsmouth.

However, he limped down the tunnel during the warm ups and was soon replaced in the starting line-up by Lynden Gooch. The American has been in poor form of late but did well and played a key part in Chris Maguire's goal which secured a one-goal advantage for the Black Cats.

Ross will leave it as late as possible before assessing whether they can risk McGeady for a crucial game.

Meanwhile, match-winner of the first leg Maguire will be hoping his goal after coming off the bench will be enough to secure a start in the second leg at Fratton Park.

Injury-wise, the Black Cats are looking good. Even Duncan Watmore has been back in training this week and could make the bench despite fears his season was ended in early March.

So who would you start at Portsmouth? Pick your Sunderland starting 11 for the crucial play-off clash.
