Portsmouth vs Sunderland team news: Black Cats name an unchanged side at Fratton Park

Phil Parkinson named the same starting XI that began the midweek win at Tranmere Rovers, which meant January signing Bailey Wright continued at the heart of defence.

Deadline day loan signing from Bristol City Antoine Semenyo was included on the bench, but fellow new arrival Declan John - who signed on loan from Swansea City - did not join in time to be involved today.

January additions Kyle Lafferty and Josh Scowen were also amongst the subs for Sunderland at Fratton Park.

Portsmouth boss Kenny Jackett made one change to the side that started Tuesday’s win at Lincoln City, with Cameron McGeehan replacing Ben Close.
