Portsmouth close in on move for former Bristol Rovers star now at Ipswich Town

Portsmouth are close to securing a deal for former Bristol Rovers star Ellis Harrison.

Harrison spent last season at Ipswich Town following a move from Rovers for £750,000 after netting 14 goals in 49 appearances for the Gas in 2017/18.

Yet it proved to be a season of injury frustration for Harrison, who netted just once in 17 appearances on his step up to the Championship.

Ipswich were subsequently relegated back to League One and the East Anglian Daily Times report that Harrison is close to moving to Fratton Park.

The 25-year-old was made available for loan in January but failed to secure a move - although Pompey are known to have been longtime admirers of the player.

He was linked with a move to Portsmouth last summer before Ipswich came in for him and they now appear to have got their man.

It is currently unclear how much Pompey will pay for the former Rovers star.
