Porto play Alfredo Morelos 'game of patience' as Rangers stand firm on asking price

Porto are playing a ‘game of patience’ as they look to convince Rangers to sell Alfredo Morelos.

The Ibrox side are unwilling to budge on their price tag while Porto hope to get him cheaper with a sell-on clause.

Some Portuguese media stated that a deal had been agreed between Morelos and Porto, but it’s understood that isn’t the case.

Morelos is Porto’s main target to replace Moussa Marega and the Colombian’s agent has been in Portugal.

But it’s believed he was there to finalise a move for Yerson Mosquera to Wolves rather than the Rangers frontman to Porto.

And A Bola now report that Porto have to remain patient in their bid to sign El Bufalo.

They say the fee would be around €15m, although Steven Gerrard's men knocked back a higher offer from Lille last summer.

Morelos is currently in Brazil with Colombia at the Copa America, and they finished their tournament by winning a third place play-off in the early hours of Saturday morning but the striker was an unused sub.

He posted on Instagram with his pride of representing his country this morning when he said: "What pride to be part of this beautiful family, which represents not only a country, but also the goals of each of us who wear this shirt.

"That he shines with great pride and responsibility, congratulations team for this great work and what has been achieved in this Copa América, which leaves us all with great satisfaction."
