Portmarnock man hopes to raise €5,000 for Dublin homeless charity this Christmas through a digital raffle

A bighearted Dubliner is running a digital raffle to raise vital funds for a homeless charity this Christmas.

Portmarnock man Jonny O’Malley hopes to raise €5,000 for the Feed Our Homeless charity based in the capital’s city centre.

All proceeds from the raffle will go directly to raising money for the organisation’s soup kitchen and other services.

The 36-year-old graphic designer, who owns the website Go Raffle It, told Dublin Live: "I did some volunteer work in the past, and had the idea that creating a digital raffling platform would have much bigger reach and financial gain for a charity organisation as they can share it between their social media followers online instead of selling tickets only in person or at an event.

"I don't gain financially from the website, it's there to be used by charities to raise money for their causes and I'm hoping more organisations will use it in the future too.

"Painter Ciaran Phillips from LLJ Painting in Portarlington came up with the idea and got in touch with me to run this raffle through the website in aid of Feed Our Homeless. He has sponsored an amazing prize too."

Tickets for the raffle are €10 and only 500 are to be sold with the lucky winner getting a voucher of €1,500 from a painting and decorating company called LLJ Painting.
