Portmarnock ice-cream shop Sweet Caroline's is giving away FREE 99s to front line workers

A popular north Dublin ice cream shop is giving away FREE 99s to healthcare workers as a gesture of goodwill and appreciation.

Sweet Caroline’s in Portmarnock is offering free ice cream to nurses, doctors, cleaners, porters, and admin staff who have been tirelessly working through the COVID-19 pandemic.

The offer will be on until the end of June and all you have to do is show your badge at the counter

A Facebook post announcing the re-opening of the shop reads: “We are so delighted to re open today for take away with all the necessary measures to protect our staff and customers.

“We ask that you follow some steps to ensure the safety of everyone.

-One family in the shop at a time

-Please observe the floor markings / social distancing

-If possible have the exact cash or pay with card

-Have your order ready so we can minimise the wait time for everyone

“A small gesture to show our appreciation to all of our health care workers (cleaners, porters, admin staff, nurses, doctors etc) we have a free 99 waiting for you from now until the end of June, just show your badge. Thank you for your amazing work.

“Thank you to our amazing customers for your continued support....the last few weeks have been tough but we hope we can cheer you up with a Sweet Caroline’s.”
