Portadown boss Niall Currie hits out at 'haters' as he makes 'stronger' vow

Niall Currie has hit out at Portadown's "haters" following the club's relegation.

The Ports suffered an agonising 3-2 defeat to Dungannon Swifts on Saturday which confirmed their fate.

Currie will now start preparing for life in the Championship, and insists the club will return "stronger".

He also labelled those rival fans who are dining out on Portadown's demise as "sad", but said the vitriol will only add to his motivation to bring the Mid-Ulster club back to the top flight.

He said on social media: "Thank you to our supporters for all the messages of support, to the haters, thank you for giving me more determination for the road ahead.

"Sad to see some thrive in other's misery, but when you put your head above the parapet you're always there to be shot at I suppose.

"I'm on the floor but I won't be changing for anyone.

"Thank you again for the lovely messages. We will return and stronger."
