Detectives have seized cash, documents and electronic items after executing search warrants targeting the activities of alleged outlaw motorcycle gangs in the Hunter and Sydney's west.
The raids came after the NSW Police Criminal Groups Squad and Australian Federal Police's National Anti-Gangs Squad (NAGS) - formed Strike Force Gildi in May last year to investigate the criminal activities of associates of the Comancheros outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG).
Following extensive inquiries, NAGS investigators executed four search warrants at homes at Baulkham Hills, Boat Harbour, and a Flemington business from 7am Wednesday.
During the searches, police seized documents, electronic items, a set of handcuffs, OMCG paraphernalia - including a diamond encrusted gold ring - and other items relevant to ongoing investigations, police said.
Criminal Groups Squad commander Detective Superintendent Grant Taylor, said NAGS investigators targeted individuals who facilitated, associated, or helped those responsible for the alleged illicit activities of outlaw motorcycle gangs and other criminal networks.
"We know members of these criminal syndicates go to extreme efforts to avoid detection by law enforcement, often exploiting interests in legitimate businesses so funds generated can be used to facilitate organised crime," Det Supt Taylor said.
"Often these businesses incorporate family members or close associates of those involved in the illicit activities, which was the purpose of these search warrants in this instance."
Investigations under Strike Force Gildi continue.
