Port Authority bus terminal bomber Akayed Ullah found guilty

NEW YORK _ An Islamic State acolyte was found guilty on all counts Tuesday of attempting to blow himself up in a passageway to the Port Authority bus terminal in a botched attack that miraculously resulted in no casualties.

Akayed Ullah, 28, faces up to life in prison for the bombing on Dec. 11 of last year.

During a weeklong trial prosecutors had introduced evidence that Ullah had targeted the underground passageway to the bustling bus terminal to inflict maximum damage.

Ullah had also made damning posts on social media before the attack, including "Oh America die in your rage." Authorities also found evidence he had viewed ISIS propaganda on his computer.

Attorneys for Ullah, a Bangladeshi electrician living in Brooklyn, had argued that he was outraged by U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East and suicidal _ but not a follower of ISIS.
