Latest 992-generation model loses its roof and some performance from the just-launched coupe variation.

That’s quite a quick follow-up!
It was just less than two months ago that Porsche introduced the eight-generation 911, codenamed 992.
This week, Weissach announced a second body style in the form of the open-top Cabriolet.
As ever, the 911 Cabriolet features a soft-top which can now open or close in a quicker 12sec at speeds of no more than 50kph.
Like in the coupe sibling, the 911 Cabriolet gets an evolved exterior design, more digital screens and less buttons inside and new eight-speed dual-clutch automatic driving either the rear or all four wheels.
Likewise, there is no wide-body version anymore for the so-called 4 all-wheel-drive, which shares the same track width as the rear-driver.

Has the non-S been announced yet?
While Porsche has moved quickly with the introduction of the Cabriolet, it has seemingly decided to take a step-by-step approach with the engine range.
Like in the coupe, the 911 Cabriolet initially comes in Carerra S and 4S forms boasting 450hp 3.0-litre turbocharged flat-six.
The open-top 911 goes from 0-100kph in 3.9sec with the 4S shaving off 0.1sec; using launch control of the Sport Chrono pack cuts the times in both cases by 0.2sec.
Even so, this soft-top 911 is a considerable 0.2sec slower than its fixed-top sibling. No weight figures have been released for the 911 Cabriolet, but the coupe is being quoted at 1,515kg and an extra 50kg for the 4S.

When can I get one of these?
Order books are now open with the 911 Cabriolet costing around 13-14 million baht in 450hp guise.
Porsche is rumoured to introduce the regular Carrera with some 385hp toward mid-year which would help bring down the prices (of the coupe, as well) to around 11-12 million baht.
Expect Turbo variants higher up the price ranks coming later in the year with some 600hp and sub-3.0sec 0-100kph times.
