Porsche reveals date new £8m East Yorkshire showroom will open

Porsche’s new £8m dealership in Hessle will open on January 20.

The showroom, which will also include an MOT centre and workshop space, is one of several luxury car developments set to open its doors in the region.

Just down the A63 in Melton, work is underway on a new £12m Mercedes-Benz dealership.

Porsche dealership developer Lister Group has now confirmed the new centre, at the Bridgehead Business Park, will open on January 20.

It said: “The development will feature a 22-car, double height luxury showroom featuring a specification lounge and hospitality area, 14 state-of-the-art workshop bays and extensive Porsche approved pre-owned car display space.

“Located on a two-and-a-half acre site on the high profile Bridgehead Business Park, this is the first Porsche centre for the group and comes at an incredibly exciting time as the range of innovative sports cars continues to expand and interest in classic Porsche cars grows.”

An initial 35 jobs will be created at the dealership, with the potential for 15 more in the future.

Plans for the showroom were first unveiled in November 2018, before being approved by East Riding Council earlier this year.

Speaking at the time plans for the showroom were approved, Councillor Richard Burton, of East Riding Council , said: "I think it's an excellent development, it oozes quality and will surely encourage more quality offices alongside it.

“I think it opens the door to a really successful further development of the site."

Porsche will open at the thriving Bridgehead Business Park in Hessle.

Other notable tenants at Bridgehead include Victoria Plum.com, laser manufacturer Luxinar, The One Point and the renewables-focused ergo centre.

Last month, work was also completed on the £12m Aura Innovation Centre on the site.

Dominic Gibbons, managing director at the Bridgehead Business Park owner Wykeland Group, said: “This is the latest in a series of significant investments by blue chip companies at Bridgehead and especially exciting as it will bring one of the world’s most prestigious motoring brands to East Yorkshire.”
