Porsche driver who 'thinks he's got a tank' won't pass ambulance and blocks road

A Porsche driver "thinks he's a tank" and won't pass an ambulance blocking the road for other road users, an outraged woman says.

The driver was lambasted for his selfish driving habits which emerged in video footage on social media.

A woman condemned the driver of the Porsche 911 when he would not pass the emergency vehicle.

TikTok user Sarah Saunders captured the driver "blocking the road" and maintained he had plenty space to overtake.

The video shows the supercar coming to a halt beside the ambulance which has its ramp down and doors open.

There does appear to be enough space on either side of the sports car which is more than 6ft wide.

In the video footage Sarah says: “Here we have a Porsche driver unable to pass the ambulance on the right-hand side.

“As you can see here on the left-hand side he’s only just on the yellow lines and the door for the ambulance isn’t even past the white line.

"So he thinks he’s got a tank - and he doesn’t.”

Comments on the clip grew with other TikTokers eager to give their take on the situation.

Most commenters reckoned the driver could have easily overtaken the ambulance.

One person wrote: “I could get my HGV past that - plenty of room on both sides.”

Another joked: “Even if he was riding a bicycle he still probably wouldn’t be able to get past.”

But others agreed with sided with Porsche driver, who would have paid more than £80,000 for his vehicle.

One man said: “So he should risk damaging his car and an emergency vehicle?

“If he doesn’t feel like he can make it why would he risk it?”

Another added: “Probably not their car, and they're frightened of damaging it.”

And a third person commented “I agree there is room but Porsche 911 are wider at the back which you can’t see here really. They are also hard to see out of.

“If he was riding a bicycle he still probably wouldn’t be able to get past.”
