A notorious Melbourne Porsche driver, who filmed dying police after they were hit by a truck while impounding his luxury car, has been banned from providing financial services.
Former mortgage broker Richard Pusey, 43, has been banned for 10 years by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission from providing financial and credit services or engaging in financial and credit activities for lying on paperwork.
Pusey was a director of IKnow (Vic) Pty Ltd, which held a credit licence between 2011 and 2015.
He was also the director of ISwitchNow Pty Ltd, which held a credit licence between 2015 and 2019.
IKnow and Pusey had both been authorised to give general financial advice as authorised representatives of Australian Life Insurance Distribution Pty Ltd.
On Tuesday, ASIC said Pusey had provided seven false statements in credit licence applications and annual compliance statements between 2011 and 2017.
In a statement, the commission also said it was satisfied Pusey lacked the attributes of good character, honesty, and judgment; had no regard for the law; was likely to contravene credit and financial services legislation; and was not a fit and proper person to participate in the financial services and credit industries.
His ban took effect on August 6.
Pusey on Monday faced an online hearing at Melbourne Magistrates Court, pleading guilty to assaulting a woman in Fitzroy in December.
He also pleaded guilty to using a carriage service to menace a Westpac Bank employee during a series of messages in August 2019 that followed a credit card dispute.
He will be sentenced on Wednesday.
Pusey was jailed in April for 10 months after filming dead and dying police officers following Melbourne's Eastern Freeway crash and calling it "f***ing justice".
Senior Constables Lynette Taylor and Kevin King, and Constables Glen Humphris and Josh Prestney, died when a truck veered into the emergency lane on April 22, 2020 while they were impounding Pusey's car.
