Popular west end Spanish restaurant El Gusto announces permanent closure

A popular Spanish restaurant in Glasgow's west end has shut its doors for good after seven years.

El Gusto on Gibson Street made the announcement on social media, confirming the coronavirus pandemic forced them to close down.

The restaurant thanked all customers that had visited over the years, adding, "we’ll miss you all, we've made some great memories and had good times together".

The latest closure comes as bars and restaurants continue to be banned from opening in the latest round of coronavirus restrictions.

The statement on El Gusto's Facebook page reads: "Regrettably, tonight was our last service in El Gusto . We’re very sad to say Covid beat us in the end and we’re closing for good.

"We’d like to thank all our customers and friends for their support over the past seven years. We'll miss you all, we've made some great memories and had good times together.

"Be safe . Viva la vida! Love Always , El Gusto staff and Guillermo & family."
