What was supposed to be a day filled with joy for one local Dublin pub was turned to heartbreak after news filtered through about the loss of one of their locals.
Terenure pub The Two Sisters paid a fitting tribute to Nuala Maloney who passed away over the weekend after a long battle with illness.
The local boozer described Nuala as an "absolutely lady" and passed on their sympathies to her sister and the whole extended family.
Tributes began to flow under their post with many posting their memories of Nuala.
One pal said: "Rest in Peace Nuala - a battle bravely fought. You were beautiful inside and out."
Another added: "A wonderful and nice woman. You will be sadly missed by all around here.
A third said: "Our thoughts and prayers are with your family at this difficult time. May Nuala rest easy."
Her death notice reads: "Moloney (née O’Toole) Nuala, 24th July, 2021, Limekiln Drive, Manor Estate and formerly of Whitehall Gardens, Terenure; peacefully, surrounded by her loving family in the wonderful care of the staff of Kiltipper Woods Nursing Home; beloved wife of the late Frank, loving mam of Anne, Ciara, Úna, Emma and Ailbhe and a much loved nana of Alanagh, Joanne, Megan, Kaitlyn, Bríana, Séan, Finn, Jess, Aaron, Kila and Cíarán.
"Sadly missed by her loving daughters, sons-in-law David, Paul, Conan and Andrew, grandchildren and great grandson Cillian, sisters Deirdre, Terry, Emer and Kate, brothers Kevin, Aidan and Niall, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends."
