An underground music venue in St Pauls is set to reopen their doors to members of the public in September.
Cosies is known for its celebration of local musicians and underground music.
But, in March - along with many other venues across the city - the Cosies team decided the safest option to take was to close up.
At the time they said they were “unaware” of when they’d be able to reopen again.
In a statement the team said: “The loss of business will obviously be devastating to our small independent business as it will be for many others but we recognise there are more important things happening in the world right now.”
Fast forward to six months later and Cosies has announced that in September it will be reopening with “food and background music”.
Last week The Night Time Industries Association announced three out of five businesses could go bust by September and a new report, supported by the Institute of Occupational Medicine, looks at how clubs and other venues could reopen safely.
The guidelines for how nightclubs will begin to reopen are still unclear, but the possibility of clubbers wearing face masks is being explored, as well as restricted numbers on the dance floor.
Other venues within the area have reopened such as Lakota, The Canteen and The Attic Bar.
The association said the night-time economy was one of the few remaining sectors without any clear guidelines on how they’ll be reopening and has urged the Government to “save the sector from collapse”.
Whether Cosies will eventually be reopening with these measures is still unknown.
