Popular spa hotel less than an hour from Liverpool bans guests who live in Tier 3

A much-loved spa resort hotel has asked guests who live in the Liverpool City Region not to visit and to cancel any upcoming bookings they have.

Carden Park Hotel and Spa, which is based around 55 minutes from Liverpool, has updated its website with new guidelines asking guests within the region not to travel to the hotel.

A message on its website also states that all "residents and spa guests will be asked to sign a declaration on arrival to confirm they are from the same household or support bubble. If this is not signed, guests will not be allowed to stay at the hotel.

The new update comes as the entire Liverpool City Region which is made up of Liverpool, Wirral, Sefton, St Helens, Knowsley and Halton was moved into Tier 3 which is described as 'very high risk' on the Government's new Covid alert level system.

While travel in and out of the region is not banned it is strongly advised against.

The message on Carden Park's website says: "For the safety of our guests and staff, we must abide by these regulations and we appreciate your patience and understanding in these difficult times.

"There are travel restrictions for the following Tier 3 areas:

"Liverpool City Region, including:

  • Liverpool
  • Knowsley
  • Wirral
  • St Helens
  • Sefton
  • Halton

"We please ask for your co-operation and if you live in one of the above areas do not travel to the hotel. If you have an imminent booking, please cancel online or call our reservations team on 01829 731 000 as soon as possible to postpone / cancel your booking.

"Guests arriving from other countries like Wales or Scotland should also check their local restrictions regarding travel and not visit our estate if this is the government advice."
