Popular southside Glasgow cafe closes 'until further notice' due to flooding

A popular coffee shop in the southside of Glasgow has announced it has been forced to shut 'until further notice' due to flooding.

Posting on their official Instagram page, Patricia's Coffee Bar, which first opened in 2020 and is located on Victoria Road, said the situation was "bad", after problems with frozen pipes led to flooding.

The café in Govanhill is a favourite of locals and was opened by five siblings after they tragically lost their mother in 2015; named for her, they often run mental health events to help those in need of it chat more about their problems.

The team confirmed they will try to open again as soon as they can.

Fellow businesses in the area rallied around to offer their support on the post.

Sugar Snap chocolate wrote: "Oh no. I'm so sorry. I had this year too. It's awful. Hope it's sorted soon. Give me a shout if you need anything."

While the team at Sinclair's in Battlefield added: "So sorry to hear this, hope you get back up and running soon."
