Popular south side bar Sammy's to reopen as gastro pub Zinfandels

A Glasgow pub has transformed itself into a new bar and undergone a name change.

Local south side favourite Sammy's is under new management and has rebranded as Zinfandel - a gastro pub in the bustling Strathbungo area.

Sammy's was a popular spot for years, but recently was looking for someone new to run it. The building boasts  a lounge bar area to the front of the property as well as a function room and kitchen at the back.

Fortunately, Marko Curic and his team swept up the opportunity and have breathed new life into the venue, transforming the interior and naming the bar Zinfandel after the Californian wine.

Zinfandel is also taking the 'gastro' part of gastro pub seriously and is promising delicious, European food to satisfy even the most particular of eaters.

They said: "We are bringing one of the most popular Croatian chefs Mate Jankovic and Frane Badrov with wide European experience to create our menu and inspire our kitchen staff."

The revamped venue does not yet have an opening date, but is set to launch later this month.
