Popular South Lanarkshire restaurant opens East Kilbride branch inside the former New Farm Crown Carvery

A popular South Lanarkshire restaurant opened it's doors for the first time in East Kilbride yesterday.

Carrigan's has been serving the communities of Hamilton and Blantyre for decades, and will now add East Kilbride to the list as they moved into the old New Farm Crown Carvery on Strathaven Road.

The community was welcomed into the family eatery for the first time yesterday, with around 50 staff employed within the new branch.

Restaurant manager Susan Dorricott told the East Kilbride News on opening day: "Carrigan's has been established as a restaurant and bar for 40 years.

"There main interest is that they want to welcome people into a warm family environment, with good service and good food.

"There has been a goal for a while to come into a new area and expand, and they have taken this on and made it their own brand.

"They have totally refurbished the bar area, and totally refurbished the lounge area. There will be a bit more work on things and we have the beer garden that is being refurbished as well for the sun.

"The Carrigan family started in Quarter and expanded from there to Blantyre and Hamilton.

"There are some of the guys who were here when it was the New Farm and they are being trained up to the Carrigans standard, so there is lot of familiar faces as well as new faces!"
