A popular south Dublin beach has been crowned as one of the top 10 beaches in Ireland.
Described as a "treat", the sprawling stony stretch of Killiney Beach made the list thanks to its stunning views.
The southside beach, which is home to big-name celebrities like Bono and Enya, is the only Dublin area named in Lonely Planet's "10 best beaches in Ireland".
The description on the popular travel website reads: "As city beaches go, this one in the south Dublin suburb of Killiney is a treat.
"The long stony beach is backed up by some of the most exclusive addresses in Dublin, the homes of some of the biggest celebrities like Bono and Enya, who have unfettered views of the wide arc of Killiney Bay, which is said to bear more than a striking resemblance to the Bay of Naples – hence the Italian names of many of the streets around here.
"The beach itself is popular with swimmers, walkers, and families on a day out: on a fine day you’ll be in plenty of company, but the walk from end to end is one of the nicest in Dublin."
