At times, using a public toilet can be a huge risk as you never know quite how filthy they’re going to be. But now, the public toilets you might want to avoid have been revealed.
The most-complained about public loos in the UK are in Blackpool, according to research from bathroom specialists AQVA. In 2021, the local council received 39 official complaints.
The seaside town, iconic for its beach and promenade sees thousands of visitors flock to the shores each year.
But via a Freedom of Information request of 108 local authorities, to find out which councils received the most complaints regarding the cleanliness of public toilets during 2021, Blackpool topped the pile - with 39 complaints.
The most complained about toilets at the Central Drive Car Park are just a stone's throw from the beach.
In second place was Bristol, where there were 19 complaints.

Islington, Stoke on Trent, Westminster and Aberdeen each received 1 complaint about their toilets
Some councils were unable to provide data due to not having the information readily available, but 86 councils responded.
Many councils responded to say that they did not receive any complaints during the 12-month period.
Blackpool Council was contacted for comment.
It comes as kids are facing a choice of 'eating lunch or going to the toilet' at school, according to angry parents.
The loos at Woodchurch High School in Liverpool, Merseyside have been locked because of vandalism leaving pupils with a stark choice.
Frustrated parents claim their sons and daughters must now "choose between eating lunch or going the toilet".
Emma McGinness told the Liverpool Echo children are "suffering" without toilet use which she claimed was a "basic human right".
