The recalled product was distributed through 21 distributors across 12 states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Florida, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, and Washington. It was also sold directly to hair professionals and consumers at the retail level, meaning shoppers who purchased this mousse at a salon supply store or similar retailer may be affected.

Henkel said it learned of the issue through one customer complaint and two salon reports. One instance of bruising on the hand was reported; no other injuries were identified. The company is conducting the recall with the knowledge of the FDA, which posted the company’s announcement as a public service.

How to Contact Henkel About the Recall

Consumers who purchased the affected product are encouraged to return it to their place of purchase for a full refund. For questions, Henkel has set up a dedicated customer line at 1-800-234-4672, available Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time and Friday from 6:00 a.m. to noon Pacific Time.

Shoppers who are unsure whether their product is affected should check the batch code on the back of the can against the list above.
