Popular pub near Bristol 'sorry' after announcing sudden closure

A pub in South Gloucestershire has announced it will be closing its doors for good this week. The team behind The White Harte on London Road in Warmley has said farewell and thank you to its loyal customers over the years.

First established around 1825, the pub has been praised in recent years for its brilliant staff, great service and live music over the years. The exact closure date has not been specified but the owners have invited punters for "a final drink or two" while they drain the stock over the next few days. BristolLive has reached out to The White Harte for comment.

The White Harte team said: "We are sorry to say we have decide [sic] to close down and will be running the stock out over the next few days, so why not come in for a final drink or two.

"New owners are anticipated to be in early in the new year and we wish them every success. We hope everyone enjoys The White Harte for many years to come. A big thank you for your support over the past years."

Situated between Bristol and Bath, the pub was easily accessible via the cycle path equipped with its own Cellar 21 Speakeasy accessed through a secret entrance.

The White Harte had mostly excellent reviews on the review site TripAdvisor and was praised for its fish and chips alongside its Sunday lunches. It was also known for its live music performances on weekends and its popular pub quiz every Monday.

Good reviewer Brian Donnelly said it was "an excellent pub with great staff". Christopher Franklin added: "Brilliant staff, great service, lovely outdoor area for when it's sunny. There's great service if you take your pets too, a water station to allow your dogs to have a drink!"
