Popular Liverpool restaurant taking Eat Out to Help out a step further

Restaurants across the country this week have joined the Government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme.

The initiative, which launched on August 1, means those eating out on certain days can get 50% discount off, up to £10 per head, at participating restaurants, pubs and cafes.

Restaurants across Liverpool have joined the scheme - you can find out which ones here - along with chains such as McDonald’s and Nando’s.

The scheme is being launched to help pump money back into the food and drink industry, which has struggled during the coronavirus lockdown, with many places forced to close completely for several months.

One Liverpool restaurant is taking the initiative one step further and offering customers 50% - without capping it at £10 per head.

Sharing the news on Instagram, Albert’s Schenke on Hanover Street wrote: The rumours are true, we’ve signed up to Rishi’s ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ scheme, but Albert’s been thinking...

“Devour 50% off all food and soft drinks Monday to Wednesday throughout August, and we won’t be capping it at a tenner!”

The restaurant and beer hall replaced The Hub Alehouse and Kitchen when it closed after almost a decade in May 2019.

Albert’s Schenke is also taking things a step further by launching its ‘Feast Out’ deal, which offers visitors any main, side, dessert or small plate and a beer, cocktail or glass of wine for £15.

Both the Eat Out to Help Out deal and Feast Out offers will run all day on Monday - Wednesday.

Booking is advised via www.albertsschenke.co.uk.

To take advantage of the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, you don’t need to download, or print off vouchers, the deduction will automatically be made to your bill, during your visit.

The discount will be applied to food and drink, but not alcohol, and diners can claim as many times as they like during August, at participating venues across the UK.

Venues will then be fully reimbursed for any discounts claimed, via an online portal.
