One of Liverpool most popular restaurants has launched its own online beer delivery service.
Award-winning Indian street food restaurant Bundobust, which opened on Bold Street in May 2019, has launched Patel’s Off License which will deliver beer and cider across the city.
Named after co-founder Mayur’s surname, Patel’s Off License launched last week to sell Bundobust’s existing stock and help generate income while restaurants are closed - and resulted in the majority of beer being sold out in two hours.
Mayur Patel and business partner Marko Husak have now restocked and plan to keep Patel’s Off License online permanently with beers changing regularly and new beers twice a week.
Patel’s offers customers everything from Northern Monk, Cloudwater and Kirkstall to Hogans cider and low or non-alcoholic beer.
Marko Husak, co-founder of Bundobust, said: “We have been selling takeout beer at Bundobust as Patel’s Off License for the last couple of years.
“But seeing as the customers can’t come to us, we thought we’d go to them. We thought the bottle shop would be a good way to sell existing stock, generate a bit of income, and most importantly to connect to our customer base.
“We were so overwhelmed by the demand from our trial day last week, with most beers selling out within hours, that we needed to restock quickly. We now plan to keep Patels Off Licence going permanently.
