Popular Liverpool FC supporter found safe and well week on from disappearance

A man who had been missing for a week has now been found.

Michael Dowling was last seen by housemates on September 4 but, when a friend was unable to get in contact with him on Thursday, his family became increasingly concerned.

Appealing for help, his sister-in-law said: "He's just a normal lad, he likes playing on his PlayStation and taking care of his cats. He's a massive Liverpool fan and used to work in the kitchen at Anfield."

His disappearance led to Merseyside Police also issuing a public appeal for help locating the popular 34-year-old, who is from Southport.

But after days of public appeals, today the force this morning revealed the good news he had now been found, adding that he was safe and well.
