Popular Lark Lane restaurant listed as 'permanently closed' but Facebook page says it's temporary

A Lark Lane venue is currently closed, but the restaurant's Facebook page has assured it's only temporary.

Monkey Grinder, which opened on the lane in south Liverpool in 2017, has stood empty in recent days and is listed as ‘permanently closed’ on Google, prompting fears it had shut for good.

But after contacting the restaurant via its Faecbook page, the Echo received a reply from the page saying: “Monkey Grinder is currently closed for a refurbishment, what with January being a quiet month.  We are due to re-open next month.”

Monkey Grinder serves a selection of Mediterranean tapas, including meatballs in tomato and jalapeno sauce, tiger prawns in chilli and garlic and fried halloumi with caramelised onion.

It's currently rated four and a half stars on TripAdvisor.

Just three weeks ago a reviewer gave it five stars describing it as: “A little gem, tapas with character and excellent cuisine and service.

Another, who also gave it five stars said it’s a “Great place for breakfast.”
