Popular Lanarkshire plant sale back in full bloom this month

A charity plant sale is returning to Rutherglen at the end of the month.

The Rotary Club is once again hosting its annual event to raise money for charities next Saturday, May 28.

The organisation has been hosting the event since 2014 and has proven to be popular with the community.

The club has worked alongside their sponsor, Fosters Family Funeral Directors in recent years to make the event as successful as possible.

Andrew Cattanach from Rutherglen Rotary Club, told Lanarkshire Live: "Last year was a great success, especially as we couldn’t do it in 2020 due to the pandemic.

“There was great attendance and there was a long queue very early on. All the plants were sold out by noon, well ahead of the expected end of the event.

"The success of these events is as always due to the efforts of the members, family and friends of the rotary club and plant lovers in the community.

“We have great support from our sponsors, Fosters who again are providing a generous financial donation.”

Plants for the sale are being provided from Reynard Nurseries and Rosebank Garden Centre in Carluke.

The sale will take place at the Rutherglen Reformed Church from 10am till all plants are sold.

All proceeds raised will go towards helping local charities.
