Hamilton Water Palace has been forced to shut its pirate ship area.
The popular children's play structure, which is situated within the pool area of the facility in the town for younger children, was unavailable yesterday and today.
A statement on their Facebook page stated: "Customer notice, unfortunately our Pirate Ship pool is unavailable today.
"Apologies for the inconvenience."
In November last year the swimming facility was forced to close both pools at Hamilton Water Palace due to a heating problem.
South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture (SLLC) have confirmed the pool area is also closed this morning.
Reports on social media suggest that staff absence has been a contributing factor to this closure.
David Booth, general manager of SLLC, said: “As with many employers we are currently facing higher than normal levels of staff absence as a result of COVID.
“The Pirate Ship at Hamilton Water Palace was closed on Tuesday (January 11) due to a shortage of staff cover however the main pool and gym remain open, and we plan to open the Pirate Ship from 15:30 to 18:00 today (Wednesday, January 12).
“Our staff are continuing to support the operation of vaccine centres and we are proud to be involved in this vital area of work.”
