Popular kids' play pool at Hamilton Water Palace reopens today

As lockdown eases further across Lanarkshire on Monday, leisure facilities across the county will begin to reopen.

After months of closure, Hamilton Water Palace has announced that its Children's Under 8's pool (Pirate Ship area) will reopen, however the facility's leisure pool remains closed.

The under 8's pool will be open from Monday - Friday 12.30-2.45pm.

Bookings must be made in advance.

On a post to Hamilton Water Palace's Facebook page it stated that "No walk-in bookings can be permitted. Please note that the Under 8's policy applies and children aged eight and over are not permitted entry to this pool."

The First Minister made the announcement earlier this week that Lanarkshire would move to Level 2 on Monday.

Level 2 restrictions will also include the reopening of indoor venues, with pubs and restaurants able to sell alcohol indoors until 10.30pm.

Six adults from three households will be able to meet in a cafés, pubs and restaurants from Monday.

The update comes as Ms Sturgeon announced most of Scotland is currently recording 23 cases per week for every 100,000 people.
