Popular Italian restaurant chain slash asking price as Ayrshire venues go up for sale

The owners of a popular Italian restaurant and takeaway group in Ayrshire are selling up.

And the asking price for one of their outlets is a staggering £125,000 less than was asked for two years ago.

Ayrshire Live can reveal that well established Vito’s, which has outlets in Ayr and Prestwick, are on the market.

The one in Ayr’s Burns Statue Square, Cafe Vito and Vito's To Go, boasts a 100-cover restaurant and separate takeaway, while the one in Prestwick Main Street offers a 65-cover restaurant.

It’s understood that the owners of the group are selling up as they plan to retire.

The group’s 2020 figures show a turnover of £825,788 net, with a 70 per cent gross profit and an adjusted net profit of £134,409 (2020).

Freehold offers are being accepted for the premises in Ayr, which first opened in 2006, at offers over £350,000.

The agents say that both venues were recently refurbished to a "high standard."

Leasehold offers are being considered at the Prestwick venue at offers over £195,000.

Two years ago we told how the Ayr premises was placed on the market in the hope of attracting a new owner.
