A POPULAR hilltop hotel with panoramic views of a peninsula in the Isle of Skye has been sold.
The Uig Hotel in the north of Skye has been sold to Inverlochy Castle Limited for an undisclosed fee.
Located just five minutes away from the ferry terminal, the Uig Hotel is surrounded by some of Skye's most-visited natural attractions, including the Fairy Glen, the Quiraing, Kilt Rock and the Old Man of Storr.
The hotel has 19 bedrooms with many offering guests sea views, along with a bar and restaurant offering the team's “favourites” including Highland red deer and homesmoked sea trout.
The bar also offers guests a range of tastes of the local Isle of Skye ales, gins and a range of Talisker single malts.
Billy and Anne Harley, the now former owners of The Uig Hotel, said they decided to sell the business as they felt the “time was right” to move on.
They said: “It has been an enormous privilege to be the custodians of The Uig Hotel and to serve this wonderful community over the years.
“After careful consideration, we believe the time is right to pass the hotel into new ownership.
“ICMI shares our love of Scottish hospitality, and we have every confidence that they will continue to serve the local community and create a hotel that both locals and travellers will be proud of for many years to come.”
Norbert Lieder, managing director of Inverlochy Castle Management International (ICMI) that manages a number of Scotland's luxury hotels, lodges and inns, said: “We are proud to extend our footprint to the Isle of Skye, one of Scotland's most visited destinations.
“The Uig Hotel is an excellent business with a brilliant team, thanks to the work of the current owners, Billy and Anne Harley.
“We are excited to build on their success and bring the unique ICMI offer to the island. Our aim is to continue to serve the Uig community, bringing jobs and supporting local businesses.”
ICMI runs a number of hospitality businesses in Scotland, including Glenfinnan House Hotel, The Inch Hotel, Isle of Eriska Hotel & Spa, and the recent addition, Thackray House Hotel in Callander.
