A popular eatery is gro-wing its brand by setting up a second cafe in the former Frankie & Bennys spot at Whitletts Roundabout.

Gro Coffee on Harbour Street, Irvine confirmed the news in an online post last night that they will move down the coast to Ayr.

And Gro owner Gordon Rennie even hinted that a third venue could open in Glasgow in the future.

In his online post, Gordon thanked loyal customers and said: “In Gro we achieved what some people felt the impossible and now once again we ask you to come along for the next stage of mayhem as our team prepare to take on some multinational players.

“Follow us as we open our next Gro at one of the best sites in Scotland, the amazing former Frankie & Benny’s location in Ayr!

He added: “Glasgow, you are next! We are coming!”

The dog-friendly organic coffeehouse are big on sustainability and using local suppliers.

The popular cafe boasts its own in-house bakery where their mouth-watering cakes and bakes are produced.

The team have even featured as finalists in the Scottish Food Awards twice.

The new Gro venue on Highfield Drive is in the middle of a face lift, sporting Gro’s trademark deep charcoal frontage.

The grand opening has yet to be announced.
