Popular Glasgow street food truck Mrs Falafel to expand with Botanics police box opening

One of Glasgow's most famous street food vendors is set to expand by bringing a splash of colour to an old police box in the west end.

Mrs Falafel, who reviewers often hail as one of the city's best producers of authentic middle eastern cuisine, already has a site on Woodlands Road but is adding the second spot just outside the Botanic Gardens for food fans to enjoy this spring.

The colourful Mrs Falafel sign was spotted above the old police box, which has previously housed coffee to go, with the team confirming they'll be offering a more compact menu filled with many of their most popular dishes from the new site.

Fans can look forward to food-to-go favourites like the falafel wraps, hummus and Baba Ganoush as well as plenty of coffee options and desserts such as baklava when it opens to the public on Thursday – with a provisional opening time of 10 am until 8 pm (this may be subject to change).

Mrs Falafel is following up its success on Woodlands Road with a second opening (Mrs Falafel)

With recipes passed down through three generations of Mothers and through three countries, Mrs Falafel has become popular with Glasgow foodies thanks to its authentic flavours and ingredients.

Their permanent spot close to the Sainsbury's Garage on Woodlands Road regularly sees people queueing up to enjoy their incredible wraps.

Operations & marketing director, Donna McAteer said: "We are delighted to be expanding the Mrs Falafel brand to Botanic Gardens. We look forward to bringing our much-loved family recipes to the heart of the West End.

"We have recently completed our refurbishment of Mrs Falafel at Ashley Street and we are over the moon with the positive feedback of our new look venue! Look out for us during festival season as our Mrs Falafel truck will be out and about too."
