Popular Glasgow Chinese restaurant SeeWoo closes its doors

Popular Glasgow Chinese restaurant SeeWoo has been forced to closed its doors, owners have confirmed.

Self-described as 'Scotland's largest restaurant', SeeWoo is based at The Point venue on Saracen Street in Possilpark, in the north of Glasgow, and is considered by many as somewhat of a city institution.

A spokesperson for SeeWoo today advised Glasgow Live the restaurant has closed, but it's hoped it will re-open in the near future.

They said: "The SeeWoo restaurant is currently closed, so sorry for the inconvenience.

"We will update with you soon once we got the reopen date."

Having opened in 2006, SeeWoo is famed for its wide array of oriental cuisine and hosts weddings, functions and celebrations, having the capacity to serve up to 500 people.

In particular, their dim sum and yum cha offering draws in hungry foodies from across Glasgow.

In spite of the closure of the restaurant, it's understood the SeeWoo supermarket - deemed 'Scotland's largest superstore' - is to remain open.
