Popular Fed café opens third venue in Bristol

Popular Bristol café Fed has opened in Fishponds - its third permanent site across the city. The new coffee shop occupies the site of a former estate agents next to Superdrug on Fishponds Road and follows on from the first two Fed cafes on Gloucester Road and in Redland.

The business is run by Ross Rawlings and Charlotte Hawes, who previously worked for the Boston Tea Party chain. As well as coffee from Cornish roastery Yallah, smoothies and juices, there is a breakfast and lunch menu at the new Fishponds Road cafe as well as Fed’s trademark counter of cakes, pastries, toasties, frittatas, filled brioche buns and homemade sausage rolls.

The first Fed on Gloucester Road opened in June 2018 and the second in Abbotsford Road, Redland, opened in 2021. They also ran a pop-up on Cotham Hill and one inside Glitch on Old Market.

Options on the breakfast menu in Fishponds include salted maple granola and apple overnight oats. Lunch choices include sourdough toasties, ‘abundantly filled’ brioche buns and seasonal salad bowls in two different sizes.

The cakes on display change most days but popular options include chocolate and hazelnut babka, and sea salt brownie cookies. Smoothies range from blueberry ginger banana and mint to green coconut and almond.

Fed is the latest established café to open a site in Fishponds. Last month, The Crafty Egg, which has a Stokes Croft venue, opened a second one in the former New Moon pub.
