Popular Edinburgh speakeasy bar named one of most 'Instagrammable' in the UK

A top Edinburgh cocktail bar has been voted as one of the most 'Instagrammable' in the UK, as research conducted has produced stats on how many times the name of the venue has been included in a hashtag.

It's pretty well known to locals in Edinburgh, but Panda & Sons on Queen Street is one of the most popular cocktail bars in the capital, and not just due to its incredible menu of flavoursome mixes. The speakeasy aspect of the building, portrayed as a fake barber shop also makes it stand out amongst its competitors.

For those not familiar with the city's nightlife, however, you would probably walk past the building and not think twice. Behind the masquerade, though, is a welcoming and suave interior that has certified it as one of the most visited bars in Edinburgh.

It's not only visiting the bar that has made it stand out amongst the rest of the UK. New data judged on how many times visitors have both visited and uploaded a picture or message to their Instagram page, including a Panda & Sons hashtag, has found that it is one of the most popular venues out there, especially in a modern age.

Coming second on the list of UK bar's, Panda & Sons found themselves included in 6,620 hashtags, with only Mr Fogg's, in London pipping them to the post with an incredible 16,856 hashtags. The rest of the top ten venues were all in the London area, making the Edinburgh speakeasy's triumph even more impressive.

Commenting on the top three bar's, the researchers, CasinoTop10.net, said: "Mr Fogg’s is proudly at the top of this list, with 16,856 hashtags. The chain of adventurous bars, inspired by Jules Verne’s Around the World in 80 Days, was designed to immerse its guests into the Victorian era and every bar promises a different experience.

"With 6,620 hashtags, Edinburgh’s Panda and Sons breaks London’s dominance and is in second place. The fusion of a speakeasy and a vintage style barbershop promises something for everyone, whether you are a wine lover, a beer enthusiast or if you are looking for the perfect cocktail.

"Having 3,285 hashtags, Trailer Happiness is in third place. Located in the heart of Notting Hill, Trailer Happiness is strongly influenced by Polynesian, Asian and Caribbean culture. Even though they specialise in rum, their spirits, wine, champagne and beer selection will not disappoint."
