Popular Edinburgh restaurant to introduce new 'mega' desserts with pancakes, waffles and churros

Popular Edinburgh restaurant, Down The Hatch, have launched a new dessert menu from their repurposed food truck in South Queensferry.

The Canadian chain, founded in 2015, currently has two branches in Edinburgh. One in South Queensferry and one that has recently opened on Antigua Street.

Incredibly popular with lovers of greasy and loaded portions, Down The Hatch have made a name for themselves offering huge burgers and sticky wings, to name a few.

Now, though, they have launched a new dessert menu featuring 'loaded pancake stacks, loaded waffles stacks and churros'.

Also on the menu is the incredibly popular Luca's ice cream and a selection of sauces.

The restaurant took to Instagram to make the announcement despite having to apologise for a recent lack of staff. They also said for the foreseeable future, they will only be operating with collection and Uber Eats orders from Friday to Sunday, opting to deliver a "great service for 3 days as opposed to stretching out our capabilities over 7 days".

They then proceeded to announce their new venture: 'Dolly's Desserts'.

They said, "We've repurposed our food truck to bring you some mega desserts".

These desserts will only be available to collect after ordering from the Down The Hatch app and their regular items will also be available.

The post includes several photos of the new mouth-watering desserts, such as pancake stacks and waffles, all with heaps of ice cream and other treats alongside.

The crew in Edinburgh are known for regularly adding new and adventurous tasty options to their menu. They currently offer a range of milkshakes and sweet-based cheesecakes.

They also have a variety of dirty fries and burgers that are boasted about by food-lovers, making their portions very Instagram-worthy.

People in the comments seemed delighted with the new dessert options, with one user saying "Need all the desserts! Epic stuff."

Another said "All the more reason to try the South Queensferry branch now."
