Popular Edinburgh eatery named as having one of the best burgers in the world

One of Edinburgh's most popular burger joints has been named among the best in the world according to experts.

Bread Meats Bread, who have three restaurants in Edinburgh and three in Glasgow, have become a fan favourite over the years for their quirky and adventurous toppings alongside two juicy patties.

The Scottish chain now have a new accolade to shout about after being named as having the 15th best burger in the world according to global travel site Big 7 Travel.

Scoring each contestant in categories such as value for money, consistency (google and critic reviews), innovation, atmosphere and both location and accessibility, Bread Meats Bread was ranked against joints all over the world including American and Europe.

Commenting on their decision to award the restaurant 15th place, judges said: "Bread Meats Bread boasts one of the mightiest menus we’ve ever seen, with more than 15 mouth-watering burgers to choose from.

"You could play it safe with one of the classics, but we recommend going all out and opting for the Wolf Burger. It’s a bacon cheeseburger loaded with pulled pork in tangy BBQ sauce, crispy fried onions and gochujang mayo.

"Patties are made of three different cuts of dry-aged grass-fed Scotch beef from small Perthshire farms too. A word to the wise: come hungry, the portions are huge."

With stores in both the city centre and Fort Kinnaird shopping park, foodies in Edinburgh are never far from one of the world's best burgers, with Bread Meats Bread being the only Edinburgh and Scottish venue named in the list of top 50 restaurants.
