Covid Scotland: Popular Edinburgh coffee shop closes after exposure to positive case

A popular coffee spot on Edinburgh's Easter Road has closed immediately after a member of staff came into contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid.

Little Fitzroy made the announcement this morning, writing that no member of the public has been put at risk by the exposure.

The coffee shop will now be shut 48 hours as a precaution.

They wrote on Instagram: "Heads up folks - as a precaution we will be closed for at least 48 hours - we'll keep you updated.

"We've had a staff member come in contact with someone who's tested positive for Covid so to maintain safety standards along with Scottish Government guidelines.

"We do not think that we have put any members of the public at risk but to prevent that eventuality we will be closed for at least a few days to make sure our staff and customers are safe.

"Thanks for understanding and for your continued support."

Over the last fortnight several restaurants and bars across Edinburgh have closed due to Covid cases, with venues taking the appropriate action to stop any further spread of the virus.
