Popular Edinburgh city centre bistro announce opening date following huge refurb

A popular Edinburgh city centre bistro has announced their imminent re-opening date following a hefty refurbishment which saw its doors closed for nearly a month.

Scran Bistro, on Cockburn Street, is set to re-open on Friday, February 3, following the closure at the start of January - and has shared a few sneak peak images of how their new interior is shaping up.

The eatery, which also runs two similar establishments on North Bridge and George IV Bridge, has become one of the go-to destinations for foodies who enjoy exceptional comfort food and mouth-watering milkshakes.

With loaded fries, macaroni cheese wraps and stacked burgers, Scran has racked up over 30,000 followers on Instagram. At the start of January, owners made the announcement via social media that the Cockburn Street location would be closed for a few weeks while they worked on a "brand new design."

On Tuesday, January 31, fans were given the update they have been waiting patiently for, as the bistro announced a re-opening date of Friday, February 3.

They said: "We are SO excited to let you all know we are officially back open on Friday!!!! Absolutely buzzing for you all to see the new design. We are in love. A massive thank you to @ja_coco_ & @franceyshopfitting for their hard work during the past 3 weeks!! UNREAL

"Tag your pals in the comments to let them know!! This weekend is going to be a busy one, you don’t wanna miss out on the fun!!! Remember we’re walk ins only as always. See you on Friday for a massive scran."

As well as serving up just about every hangover cure known, the bistro also offer a selection of alcohol beverages such as cocktails, wine, draught beer and shots.
