A popular Dublin busker that has been playing on the northside of the city for over a decade has said he felt "very uncomfortable" after performing on Grafton Street on the southside for a change.

Taking to his Facebook page beforehand, he joked that he was "heading into no man's land".

"Passport in hand. Crossing the Liffey today. Going to be busking on Grafton street from 11 possibly at Bewley's," the well-known busker wrote.

Mick, who has a beloved fanbase on both Facebook and YouTube, played a powerful hour long performance on the busy shopping street, which he livestreamed online.

Fans tuned in from all over the country and as far wide as Paris and even several states in America to hear Mick sing songs such as Dublin in the Rare Old Times.

Near the end of his set, Mick, who is a native of Coolock, said that he had to finish as he is only allowed to do an hour of busking on Grafton Street, as set out by the council.

He told his followers that there was someone waiting to take over his spot to play for another hour and that he would be returning to Henry Street.

Speaking exclusively to the Irish Mirror after, Mick said that he felt uncomfortable due to the general vibe of the place and "people looking down their noses."

"It's a completely different feeling in Grafton street than Henry street there's more of a friendly atmosphere on Henry street," he added.

Speaking to his followers later online, Mick said: "Thanks everyone for watching Grafton St, wasn't for me. I was very uncomfortable there today. Back home tomorrow."
