A popular Donegal restaurant has been forced to temporarily shut over coronavirus fears.
Mexican food specialists Burrito Loco in Letterkenny confirmed that they will be closed on Friday after an employee's parent tested positive for Covid-19.
They insisted that the short-term closure was merely a "precautionary measure".
The premises will stay shut on Friday as a "deep clean" takes place.
A spokesman for the diner said they had been carrying out thorough precautions since reopening in line with HSE guidelines.
They wrote on Facebook last night: "Not the statement we want to be putting out but in the interest of our staff, customers and reputation we are compelled to treat this situation with the upmost seriousness and urgency.
"In the last hour we have been made aware that a parent of one of our employees has tested positive for Covid-19.
"Since reopening in April we use thermal temperature checks and assess all our staff on arrival to work....to date we haven't had any high temperatures or Covid symptoms.
"Tomorrow we will be closing Burrito Loco and as a purely precautionary measure we will be implementing our Covid plan and asking our employees to contact their GPto seek advice on being tested before reopening Burrito Loco.
"We will keep you informed of any outcome and as a precautionary measure we will be carrying out a thorough deep clean of our premises tomorrow.
"I hope you understand that the measures we are taking is for the continued safety for staff and customers. We look forward to seeing you after we carry out this process."
