Popular Crosby bar and restaurant Tipsy Monkey closes after just one year in business

A Crosby bar and restaurant has announced its closure with an emotional statement.

Tipsy Monkey, on Liverpool Road, closed its doors for the final time on Saturday, September 21 after just over a year in business.

The bar, which specialised in small plates with a middle eastern twist, opened in May 2018 and has proven popular with locals - but owners decided to close last weekend.

In a statement on Facebook owners said: “Well we are slightly emotional tonight to say the least. Tonight will be our last night open as Tipsy Monkey.

“We want to thank everyone who has eaten and drank with us for the past year and a half.

“For anyone with gift vouchers please message us and we will reimburse you or you can use in our other site @crosbyeventscentre

“Pop in this evening for one last drink with us and come say hi to George.

“Love to you all and see you soon.”

Fans of the bar and restaurant have been sharing their sadness about the news on Facebook.

One person said: “Absolutely gutted, loved the meals we had there, especially being introduced to vegan fish!! Good luck in your new venture x.”

Another added: “No! Say it isn’t so. Best restaurant in Crosby”, while one said: “Gutted! We have had so many fantastic meals at Tipsy!”.
