Popular clothing brand The White Stuff closes its main Bristol store

A popular brand of women’s and men’s clothing has closed its main Bristol store.

The White Stuff shut the doors of its Queens Road, Clifton, shop and the site has already been cleared of stock.

Established in 1985, The White Stuff has grown to over 100 shops and concessions in the UK and internationally.

As well as women’s and men’s clothing, it is popular for its accessories and homeware.

The Queens Road store was the only branch of The White Stuff in central Bristol, although there is a shop at The Mall in Cribbs Causeway.

A sign posted on the windows of the closed store reads ‘So long Bristol, thanks for letting us be part of your community’.

It goes on to say the nearest White Stuff shops are now Cribbs Causeway, Bath and Wells, and also suggests customers go to the website to shop online.

It's the latest business to close on Queens Road after Luxury home décor shop Biggie Best shut its doors at the start of 2021, and Mexican restaurant Wahaca closed during the pandemic.

But it’s not all bad news for the street popular with Bristol university students and locals, because a new branch of burger restaurant Five Guys opens on Queens Road this month.
