Popular Cambuslang fireworks display to return this weekend

Halfway’s hugely popular fireworks display will take place this Saturday.

The event - which has in previous years seen between 1200 and 1500 people turn out - will also incorporate a fun fair when it gets underway at North Halfway Hall on November 2.

The rides and attractions will open at 2pm, with the spectacular fireworks display scheduled for 7pm.

Hot food will be served at stalls throughout the day.

The event is organised by community group Particip8 Overton as well as the 217th Gilbertfield BB company .

It will be the sixth time the groups have worked together on a fireworks display.

The event is free but donation buckets will also be available for those wanting to support the work done by Particip8 and the 217th BB.

Residents planning on attending the event are being warned that, due to the volume of people expected, parking places will be at a premium.

Visitors are asked to park away from the venue and walk.

Previous events saw traffic problems on Graham Avenue and some of the surrounding streets.
