A popular cafe in a South Wales Country Park has applied to extend and become a new all weather restaurant.
Mrs Marcos Cafe in Porthkerry Country Park has applied for an extension that will add a seating area on the first floor, a larger kitchen and a pizza station.
It is anticipated that the number of employees will grow from three members of staff to 16, with six of them part-time. The floor space would increase by around 50 sq m, to 122m sq.
The planning application says the alterations and extensions will create "a modern and attractive new building which will be wholly in keeping with the Country Park setting".
Mrs Marcos Cafe is part of the Zerachi family businesses that includes Barry Island 's famous Marco's cafe. Marco Zerachi and his family have been operating cafes and restaurants in Barry since 1958.
Porthkerry Country Park is 220 acres of woods and meadowland, with a number of nature trails and a pebble beach. It is famous for its 16 arch viaduct.
The park could be set for an extension if plans for a business at Model Farm, Port Road, Rhoose, go ahead.
The business park, which would provide jobs for more than 2,000 people, is being planned at Cardiff Airport. The 111-acre development on land at Port Road in Rhoose, adjacent to the airport, would have 1.7m sq ft of business space including offices, light industrial space and warehouses for the aerospace and related industries.
Legal and General would transfer 103 acres of land to the council to extend Porthkerry Country Park.
Parc Busnes Parc Cymru would form part of wider plans for the Welsh Government's Enterprise Zone around Cardiff Airport, which will also include another aerospace business park in St Athan.
